I have been photographing Elopement weddings and Micro weddings in Florida for over 20 years and probably have been to almost every beach in the State. So why I specialized in smaller weddings you may ask? For one I do enjoy the one on one with couples. At Elopements the bride and groom are often more relaxed and not on such a strict time line as with larger weddings. They have time for each other after the ceremony and not the stress of catering and greeting to all the family and friends. This freedom often shows in photos and in front of the camera. The other reason is that I am working alone and without a second shooter. Any wedding over 30 people with reception can be challenging for just one person for an all day shoot. Sometimes it also depends a bit on your wishes and photo needs. For example if you only need photos during the ceremony, some formals and intimate couple session is not a problem for just one photographer.
The answer is None. You book a photographer because you like their style and work of art. Any seasoned wedding photographer can photograph an elopement or micro wedding. However, there are some challenges in photographing smaller weddings. With fewer people, less is happening and photographers that are used to many subjects may run out of ideas. Micro weddings revolve more around the couple, often with a longer intimate photo session, more guidance from the photographer, and fewer photojournalistic opportunities. Knowledge in photographing micro weddings helps to make posed photos look natural and effortless.
I always customize Florida Elopement Photography packages to your needs. How much photo time is needed will depend on the guest count and if getting ready, first look or your reception needs to be covered.
The rule of thumb for a ceremony and intimate photo session is an hour and a half of photo time. This is usually sufficient for weddings with up to 15 guests. For anything above that I recommend booking a minimum of 2-hour photo session.
Elopement wedding packages in Florida with 1 1/2 hour service at the ceremony location starting at $900 plus applicable travel. This will include bridals, some details like rings and decoration, ceremony coverage, group photos and intimate photo session.
I have been so blessed with couples who hired me to photograph their destination wedding in Europe. I am bilingual in German/English and photographed several weddings in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Once a year during the summer months I run specials for destination wedding photography in Europe. Please check my Instagram for current specials.
As you probably noticed, I love to travel. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to photograph destination weddings in Plymouth, New York City, Memphis, Nashville, Hilton Head, and New Orleans, to name a few. Weddings outside of Florida in the Continental US have a minimum of 4 hours of photography time plus all applicable travel costs. Please contact me to find out more.
For some couples even the simplest beach or park wedding is too much to handle. So for whatever reason you decided on a courthouse wedding, professional photos should be part of your wedding day. Seriously, you are getting married and who doesn’t want some photos of that day? Unless you are into generic posed pictures that you can purchase directly from the courthouse or some selfies, it is a must-have.
1 full hour of photography at the courthouse and the immediate area starts at $500.
Courthouse wedding photography will include candid, ceremony, and some urban city portraiture after your ceremony. I am available in Marion, Lake, Citrus, and Orange County, depending on the distance travel fees may apply.
I need to know what is important to you. After your confirmed booking, we will discuss your must-have photos and ask for a list of group photos and portraiture that you want me to cover. I recommend all brides to book a professional hair and makeup artist. Not only will you look flawless, it will reflect on your photos. I can recommend you some artists that I have been working with in the past.
Florida has a tropical, humid, and hot climate most of the year. Here are some specific tips I can give you as a Florida photographer.
I am booking only a limited amount of weddings per month. For one, to not burn out and to be able to give my couples a personal experience. On the other, I want to stay creative and create timeless images, that reflect the day and emotions. This is only possible for me with limiting the amount of weddings I am taking on per month.
Destination wedding photography outside of Florida will take some planning on both sides. It is therefore important to book me early. With some exceptions, I recommend at least 6 months prior to your wedding date.
Most young couples nowadays are pretty much used to photos in the time and age of selfies. But there are still some of us who are Camera-shy. The best thing to combat that is to get to know each other before the big day. I like to schedule at least one personal Zoom meeting with you. Not only to discuss your wishes but also to make you feel more at ease. If you are living locally, you may want to consider an engagement session with me.
We are all a bit self-conscious. But the beauty of photographing people is the uniqueness of all human beings, in all shapes and forms nature has blessed us with. I embrace you to be true to you because your wedding photos should reflect just that. Have trust in your photographer and maybe practice a little together. After all, it is my, the photographer’s job to find your sunny side.
