What could be more fitting for the Rockabilly couple from Germany than celebrating their wedding in the Music City?
Marco contacted me first and told me that he wanted to propose to Marika and surprise her with a coupon for an elopement to Tennessee if she says YES!. He wanted to make it special for her but also give her the chance to be involved in the planning and actual location. We did consider Memphis but Nashville was in the end the chosen city. In the beginning stages, they thought to have a few guests but in the end, they just arrived alone.
It took them a little while to decide the location for the ceremony. I suggested the General Jackson Showboat for the ceremony and turned out to be the perfect location. While you can book a private room for larger weddings we just purchased regular tickets for the lunch tour with food and live entertainment on their show stage. We decided to board as soon as they opened the gate. We looked for a nice spot and held an impromptu short ceremony on board.
Before going to the dining room for lunch and live entertainment we took photos around the paddle wheeler and had a drink at the bar. We enjoyed lunch and live entertainment and continued with some photos. Marika and Marco booked a chauffeured vintage Ford convertible for the photo tour through Nashville. We made a stop at the Johnny Cash Museum, Broadway, and Pedestrian Bridge overlooking Downtown Nashville and of course Printers Alley.
